We model behavior of macro-economic agents such as central banks, investors and consumers using nonlinear dynamics (chaos theory). This allows, among other things, simulation of financial crises. Our approach reduces data-dependency and improves model output in terms of realism and relevancy. SyMath is based on Wolfram Mathematica technology.

Working Student Software Development - (for 12-16 hours p/week)

To extend our software development team we are looking for (2) talented students in Computer Science or related relevant with API programming experience and/or Wolfram Mathematica.

Are you the whizz kid that can help us define and standardize our public RESTful API’s for the and are you passionate about creating usable developer experiences? Then come and join us!

You will join a team of econometricians and economic scientists with strong programming skills. Our Software Development team builds a broad financial risk application platform satisfying modern IT standards. Areas of activity include algorithms, cloud computing, dataset management, testing and user interface design. You will have the chance to gain experience in these fields. Also, you will be working with Symetrics’ clients, including global banks, asset managers and institutional investors.

Job requirements:
· Proven experience and knowledge of how web semantics translate into RESTful Application Programming Interfaces (API's)
· Basic knowledge of (and willingness to learn) HTML web technology (SaaS) and/or familiarity with Mathematica, IBM Bluemix and/or JavaScript.
· Some hands-on experience programming and delivering in a (start-up) production environment
· Experienced in fundamental IT and a side interest in macro-economic dynamics, financial risk management, econometrics, and non-linear dynamics.
· Studying Computer Science (‘Informatica’), Mathematics or related relevant study.
